I am a 26 year old American citizen living and teaching in Greece. I have a BA in English literature and am a certified TEFL (Teacher of English as a Foreign Language) teacher. I have 4 years of teaching experience. In addition to online tutoring, I also teach at a TEFL certification centre and an English language school in Greece. I have taught in the United States, Laos, Thailand and Greece. Previous Teaching Experience: October-December 2007—Hands Up Holiday—Volunteer Work in Asia Conducted English workshops at SOS School of Luang Prabang and Minority School of Oudomxay in Laos. Tsunami relief work in Ban Tale Nok, Phuket and Khoa Lak Tsunami Orphanage in Thailand. January 2006-August 2007—Reading Connections, Greensboro, NC Americorps, NC Literacy Corps, Americorps Member Greensboro Literacy Agency Assistant Student Services Coordinator/Curriculum Developer Conducted student intake for all new students, administered CASAS standarized test to new students and annual CASAS re-test for all students, developed/taught study-skills classes for wait-listed students, computer lab monitor, and small-group/1-1/special needs/ESOL tutor. 2004-2006—Big Brother/Big Sister, Greensboro, NC Mentored/tutored student at local public school. February 2002—Silver Springs Elementary School Visiting assistant teacher in a sixth grade classroom at an At-Risk public school. Developed month-long projects on countries in Africa for students. Credentials: April 2008—Via Lingua Crete: CTEFL—with Merit, Chaina, Crete, Greece 120-hour course with 10 observed teaching hours and a grammar and phonology examination.
