The Modern Foreign Languages department at Lancaster is a dynamic and forward-looking faculty which successfully combines enthusiasm with experience in teaching our pupils. In the course of our teaching we enable and encourage pupils to look beyond the British linguistic and cultural boundaries to experience the wider world. Lessons in French and German.
In using the communicative approach, we do this by:
* Differentiating teaching and learning for all pupils;
* Establishing a learning base for all pupils, especially those who wish to study the subject(s) further.
* Contextualising students? learning by providing access to authentic resources and establishing contacts both nationally and internationally for the purposes of exchange visits and project work;
* Creating an environment where pupils are challenged by the learning materials and content, yet are stimulated and rewarded.
