Modern Foreign Languages. The MFL Department encourages students to value communication in a second language and promotes understanding and tolerance of other cultures and traditions. All students study either French or Spanish. The Department adopts an active approach to language learning, making use of real resources and ICT wherever possible. Students choose to study either French or Spanish GCSE (AQA) according to the language studied at KS3. Students submit 3 pieces of coursework from a range of themes. The MFL Department runs regular visits to both France and Spain and trips to the City Learning Centre, where pupils are placed in ?real? situations to practise their language skills.
