Welcome to the University of Glasgow Language Centre. The Centre offers courses in learning and teaching languages within and outwith the University. * The English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Unit - prepares overseas students for study at the University on Pre-Sessional Courses - supports them during their study - see In-Sessional Courses: English and Study Skills (ESS) - runs General Vacation English and other courses for specific purposes - for Teacher Training, the Unit offers Introductory (CELTA & Introduction to TESOL), In-Service (Teaching Methodology) and Masters level (MEd ELT Pathway) courses. * The Language Centre is an IELTS examination centre. * The Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Section - offers courses in around 20 languages for Leisure, Credit and Specific Professional Purposes - runs a commercial Translation & Interpreting service * All language learning and teaching activities in the University are supported by the Language Centre Library, with borrowing and self-study facilities.
