Below is an example of an essay which describes a resort. The main thing is, be concise and use layman's terms: 1995 saw the beginning of what would one day be a landmark in Western Pangasinan, Philippines. During this year, a little known 12-room lodge provided the much-needed accommodation for the growing number of both foreign and local tourists. Vista de las Islas (VISLAS) was born. More than a decade later, owing to superb service coupled with delectable food, VISLAS has made its mark (signified by a double-A resort hotel status rating from the Department of Tourism). As the name implies, Vista de las Islas boasts of a picturesque panorama of a hundred and twenty three (123) islets, collectively known as the Hundred Islands National Park, the very first national park in the Philippines. The resort is situated near the pier (the nearest jump off point to the islands) where motorized boats are readily available to bring visitors to the renowned destination. Vista de las Islas presently has 35 standard rooms, 16 deluxe rooms and one family room (each room has a phone, cable TV and a refrigerator)… a far cry from the 12 it started with. Other features and amenities include: a view deck, swimming pool, spa, boutique, souvenir shop, billiard hall, sing-along, playground, a spacious parking area and 24-hour security. A function hall (capacity for up to 400 persons) and a function room (150 persons) are also available for various occasions.
